Food For Thought
After stuffing your face with Chunky Monkey, Salsa Verde Doritos and two pepperoni calzones, you're depressed – not a shocking development. Sure, eating smaller meals and healthier foods is likely to make you feel lighter. But according to Carry Kim – a Hatha and Tibetan yoga teacher, shiatsu therapist and therapeutic foods educator – the healing power of cuisine can be even stronger than you know. At naturally chic perfumery Blunda on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm, Kim will be teaching The Essence of Eating: Exploring Asia, during which she’ll relate details about the Zen artistry of food, the power of essential oils in dishes from Japan, Korea, India and Thailand and the aromatic effects of gourmet raw foods. Pre-registration: $65, Day of: $75, 304 S. Edinburgh Ave. (just south of Third St.), (323) 658-7507
