Good summer reading has some essential characteristics: It must be fun, light and, well, campy. Jordan Roter’s new book, Camp Rules, which chronicles two girls conspiring to get one kicked out of Fern Lake Camp, looks to be all three. The young adult fiction is a great gift for sassy teens and even young-at-heart adults, who remember being tortured by dining hall grub and sing-a-longs.
