The Grapes of Wrath
A good vintage might be described as full-bodied with cherry and cedar undertones, crisp, or even buttery with a complex bouquet. Since vino boasts such sexy attributes, you’d think wine glasses might strive to match up. Unfortunately most can be described as clear with stems and a boring bouquet. Fortunately, vintage-style 23 Franc glasses (named for the cost of a glass of wine at bistros on Paris’ River Seine in the 1920s) are anything but the same old vino vessels. The short stemless glasses come in sets of four and resemble shot or mini-mason glasses more than the usual crystal. See, the wine is rich with history, so the glasses should follow suit. $45, vintageweave.com
