The first scarf I mislead was a very tiny one with a teddy bear print, I think it was hidden under a fir tree where I used to play with dolls and imagine their princess dresses. The second scarf was of soft silk with red roses, may be I forgot it in a dusty diary that kept a little secret and very long poems. The next one was quite colorful and rock and roll and it was left blowing in the wind near a funky guitar. Now I wonder where is the one that will wrap me when my little girl and I, we'll go and search for a princess scarf left under a big old fir tree? annazed(at)gmail.com

I own a few scarves that I love and know where each one is but my Mom on the other hand is a totally different story. I go in her closet to "borrow" some of the ones she has and I find them in the oddest creaks and cracks of boxes and hangers. Most of the time she is surprised she still has the ones I find and goes on to tell me how lost track of it over the years. Recently at my fellow worker the scarf was gone. The history has happened amusing. She has undressed, has jostled a scarf in a sleeve of a raincoat. And when she began to put on, íàäåëà casually a scarf of the patient which was an exact copy of her scarf. Suddenly she has felt a smell of another's spirits from a scarf. And when began to pass a hand in a sleeve of a raincoat, has groped own scarf! Kuda1976@mail.ruPosted by Mila | Apr 27 2008 4:15AM
i tie scarves to my luggage when i travel to make it easier to find them on the baggage claim turnstyle. looking for a black suitcase among others is a lot easier with a loud 60s print scarf attached to the handle. there have been casualties to my method of tagging my baggage. its an awful feeling looking for that scarf and only seeing black bags go buy. eventually when its one of the last ones left of the turnstyle you realize you are down another scarf. its sad to loose one but i'm convinced i have former baggage scarves jet setting around the globe in planes cargo holds. if i win this one i promise to only tie it on a purse and not a piece of luggage. promise. dwbrosnihan(at)gmail(dot)comPosted by deirdre wynne | Apr 25 2008 2:56PM
I am not a scarf person but Mom is and she recently lost her favorite scarf and she thinks she left at the doctor’s office. I called the receptionist to find out if anybody seen the scarf in the waiting area but they couldn’t find anything (it was a colorful scarf with Russian motif). I would love to win this for Mom! Several are MIA. One is being used as a ink blotter, a bandage, a zipper pull, a rain hat, and shoe laces. Art Nouveau at its best!thinknap@gmail.comPosted by sunchicka | Apr 25 2008 1:22AM
Really nice scarves have always been my weakness. I''''ve splurged in the past, sometimes blowing half a paycheck on ones I''''ve admired on other people but too self-conscious of my short neck to wear out. I figured I’d buy now and figure out how to put them on ‘later’. So I continued to add to my collection, storing them like a squirrel preparing for winter. When I finally got it in my head that there was really nothing wrong with the length of my neck, I excitedly went fishing for my scarves, ready to explode into spring. To my horror, I noticed the box I stored them in was gone!! After searching for two days straight, I find out my boyfriend found them while looking for a box of old clothes I left in my closet for his yard sale. Yep, they sold for a buck each. Boy did I ever learn my lesson. I really hope whoever ended up with my scarves managed to get a whole lot of use out of them. stariesky1@aol.comPosted by Bila | Apr 24 2008 5:55PM

I know for sure where two have ended up--one was taken by a gust to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and another was sadly lost on the Tube in London. Les Mis had just gotten out, and there were so many bodies packed into the car, that I was literally unable to pick the poor little guy up when he got jostled to the floor. After the ensuing trample, I decided to let him rest in peace there. ephemerally[at]gmail.comPosted by AJ | Apr 24 2008 3:13PM
