Nail polish for doggie "pet-icures"

My dog would bite my nose off if I ever tried to paint his nails—but for other mutts, the canine beauty revolution has been too long coming. At least that's what the folks over at OPI seem to think. Not content with making nail color for humans, they launched OPI PAWlish nail polish for dogs, a quick drying, one-coat pooch polish available in six bold, bright shades: Poodle Pink, Bow Wow Green, Mutt's New Purple, Fire Hydrant Red, Yuppy Puppy Silver, and Doghouse Blues. Perfect for glamming up a pet-icure.

Painting a dog's toe nails is absurd, same as dressing a dog unless it's the type of breed that is tiny, has a short coat and gets cold in the cold weather. Wearing a protective but roomy and comfortable jacket...that's ok. but hey...painting nails...do the dog's human caregivers realize their dogs are dogs, yes, to love and care for, but to paint doggy's toe nails, that's going overboard. A dog is not a substitute child...it's a living, breathing being and should be respected as such rather than the human caregiver treating the dog (or cat) like they're a child.
