Don’t Kill the Messenger
In middle school you wouldn’t be caught dead with both backpack straps on your shoulders. In high school double-strapping became geeky-chic, but only if your backpack was small. These days, you love your totes, but your neck sure is aching. What you need is a good old messenger bag to strap comfortably across your chest. Too bad you don’t really do canvas. Or is it really too bad? The bag gurus at Kooba have created the Annie, a messenger bag without all the rigid lines, nylon trim, and raver colors. In oak or black leather with antique brass hardwar, corset-style lacing and whip stitching details, the satchel is just as hot as their signature Sienna, only even more functional (halleluiah adjustable shoulder strap!) So you can have your function and your fashion too. $625, neimanmarcus.com
