Convenience Store Chic (L.A.)
Shari Lynne Robins—who's helmed the kitchen at legendary spots like Barney Greengrass, James Beach and Canal Club—opened Robins Nest Quality Convenience Market just two months ago. She describes the modern food shop as "Whole Foods-meets-7-11." Indeed, the little market, just steps from Venice beach, is stocked with everything from single Evolutionary Tea bags and morning pastries to swordfish and Wewoff spice blends to organic doggie treats. The shop is currently opened 7 a.m.-7 p.m., but will be expanding its hours by month's end. robinsnestmarket.com
