All About Eve
Last year’s New Year’s resolution: not have a sucky New Year’s again this December 31. This time, instead of waiting two hours for a cab only to land at some lame 20-person party, you’ll let someone else take care of you. First head to Sona for either the 6:30 p.m. or 9 p.m. seating and enjoy a four to six-course spread from arguably the most innovative eatery in L.A. Then for party time drive over to Whist at the Viceroy for their Cuban Fiesta, complete with two DJs, Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce dancers, a pomegranate, pineapple and classic mojito bar, Cuban hors d’oeuvres, an 80’s disco room, private poolside cabanas (available for reservation), party favors and of course a Midnight Toast! Rooms are discounted for party attendees as well. So you can have fun instead of stressing the night through. Sona: $125 - $225, Whist: $195 in advance or $175 for groups over eight, Sona: 401 N. La Cienega Blvd., (310) 659-7708, Whist: 1819 Ocean Ave., (310) 260-7500
