L'Oreal ladies reprazent
The multi-ethnic, age-representative Ladies of L'Oreal took up arms in the fight against ovarian cancer at a glittering silent aucton and benefit in L.A. last night. Eva Longoria, (who is Latina), Andie MacDowell (who is white), Kerry Washington (who is African American) and Diane Keaton (who is bespectacled) all showed their support. The event was held at the mahogany-floored, red crystal-chandeliered Murano restaurant on Melrose Ave., which is owned by Sandy Sachs and Robin Gans, lesbian nightlife mavens and founders of the Dinah Shore ladies' weekend.We spotted Rita Wilson, Kyle MacLachlan, Jaime Pressley, Brittany Murphy, and Harper's editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey (the late Liz Tilveris, who was editor-in-chief of Harper's, was head of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund).
The Stylephile was there, sipping on a kir royale and inspecting the items up for auction, which included a beautiful dusky pink Carolina Herrera chiffon gown and photography by Raymond Meier and Greg Sorensen.
