L.A. sample sale goes online at iShopFem.com
With consumers scrambling for any way to save a buck, society has entered what historians will remember as the Golden Age of the Online Sample Sale—just yesterday, another site launched, iShopFem.com, the e-version of the popular L.A. sample sale event. The site went live with sales on Voom by Joy Han and CC Skye accessories. The first 500 shoppers to register on iShopFem.com will receive a free three-month Premier membership.Founded by Irene Wong, known in L.A. for her FEM sample sale events, the new e-commerce site will feature brands at 50 to 75 percent off retail pricing. Wong, a graduate of Parsons and FIDM fashion schools, also promises to showcase wares by emerging designers on the site. She launched iShopFem.com because she felt other sample sale websites were overly exclusive. She wanted her site to be open to anyone, not just invited members. Now that's what I call democracy.
