Your romantic tales

Who knew that Stylephile readers were such romantics?
I asked you to tell us your love stories to win an evening of champagne and caviar for two at the Raffles L'Ermitage hotel, and you were happy to share. I loved reading all of your confessionals, some of which brought more than one tear to my eye.
Your stories ranged from thoughtful ("I mentioned my favorite china pattern as we walked past a display. The next morning every piece in the store's stock arrived at my front door") to intellectual ("We walked across campus planning to display our devotion to all things artsy by attending the screening of a five-hour Serbo-Croatian subtitled in French") to surprising ("For my 25th birthday, my b/f since college wrote me a 10 page rhyming poem chronicling our relationship from the first day we met on campus...Unfortunately I found out not long after that he was gay.").
In the end, I had to go with this entry, sent in by Eric, about the time his Chanel-loving European girlfriend picked him up in an old Citroën and treated him to a trip on the Orient Express. It sounded like the most stylish Valentine's Day on earth.
"My Swedish girlfriend at the time had me picked up by a driver in an old Citroen, in the car a vintage suit was waiting for me , we got to the train station where i was greeted by a porter who showed me the way to my wagon, i then realized that i was going on a journey with the orient express, direction venice.... she dressed the part in a beautiful 60's vintage chanel and i looked like cary grant with mine...It was the most surprising well planned indulging romantic 5 days i ever had..."
Eric, you're a lucky guy! Feel free to pass on her number.
