The NY "It" Dress
There's nothing like Manhattan humidity to undermine your outfit, hair, and overall disposition. Women in New York contend with nature's eau de devilment by whisking hair up in a high ponytail, donning a billowy dress, and a pair of wedges or flats that won't impede a leap over a filthy puddle in which a Twix wrapper forlonly floats. In a quest for the perfect unfairweather frock, The Stylephile noticed that women in the shop Calypso were going gaga for a certain wrap dress: the silk dupioni Julia in hibiscus (shown) or dusk. At $195, this crisp ladylike wrap nods to India, with its vivid hue and sari-like structure. Pair it with sandals or ballet flats and watch out for those puddles.
