Kiss the Sky
Last week, Los Angeles dermatologist Dr. Jessica Wu and Maria Bello hosted a cocktail party to lend support to a great and important cause. The event benefited “Half the Sky,” an organization that was started by a scriptwriter in 1997 and helps orphaned children in China. (The majority of infants who are abandoned in China are girls, alas, but you can sponsor a child for just $25 per month for one year—that’s a mere sacrifice of about five lattes or two movie tickets.) FYI: Dr. Wu happens to be my skin doctor and I wouldn’t entrust my freckled visage to anyone else. Among actresses and ladies about town, she’s known for her light touch and none of her clients ever look pulled, pinched or genetically altered. To learn more about the cause, go to www.halfthesky.org. To see Dr. Wu for a skin consultation or try her excellent skin care products that contain Chinese botanicals, visit her official site. -- Monica Corcoran
