Taking the Bar
In L.A. hotel bars are hotspots: The Chateau, Teddy’s, the newly renamed Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis. Add Bar Noir at boutique hotel Maison 140 to the list, as they’re now offering intimate Vin et Fromage evenings every third Monday of the month from 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. The cheese is chosen by Sous Chef Gabriel Gil of Avalon’s Blue on Blue, while the wine is selected by fellow Avalon-er Cindi Byun and Sommelier Ben Meyer of Viceroy Santa Monica. Today’s tasting is themed Thoroughbred Chards and upcoming pairings include Aromatic Whites, Red to White and Patio Wines.
