Relief Shopping, Part II
Philanthropic spending continues, with more Hurricane Katrina relief opportunities. Flower power: Buy Michelle Roy's $28 silk Swarovski magnolia (Louisiana and Mississippi's state flower), as seen on Ellen DeGeneres, Eva Longoria and Halle Berry during the Emmys. Also, Nic Norman is offering blooms on suede belts for $60. All profits from both adornments go to the Red Cross. T-shirt power: Now available, Polo’s Fashion for Relief shirt ($35), a C&C’s "Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?" shirt ($50, $100 or $150 donation) and Kenneth Cole’s Red Cross shirt ($25 ). Sale power: Trina Turk boutiques are giving 50% of all sales today to Habitat for Humanity. The California Designers' Bayou Benefit — held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 11th floor of downtown L.A.'s Cooper Design Space — will boast sales of Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Corey Lynn Calter, Michelle Mason and more to benefit the Red Cross.
