GO GREEN: To the Max
It’s a common misconception that environmentalism is a cause beloved only by the hippie "fringe"—pun intended. Naïve buyers assume that only small time designers or boutiques bother to use eco-safe fabrics and environmentally sound practices. Thank goodness that’s not actually the case. Lovers of well-known line Max Studio may not even be aware for instance that the cold weather collections (a new one is presented every fifteen days) include soy cashmere sweaters and bamboo French terry hoodies. Now for Spring 2007 the designer presents a linen and bamboo skirt and adorable light-weight and romantic cream-colored spring frock—all environmentally sound and available country wide in early February. $148-$168, maxstudio.com
