Mostly we blame our parents for bad inherited traits like big noses, acne and ineptness at math. Jewelry designer Traci Meyer reminds us that occasionally our parents deserve a thank you. The young creator grew up watching her mother make jewelry. Years later, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer, Meyer returned home to be with her parents and found that jewelry making was extremely therapeutic. Since then she's launched 2nd Jeneration, which specializes in semi-precious and precious stones set in 14 and 18-karat gold-filled pieces.
