Give the gift of prom

Are you one of those fabulous types that has dozens of shimmering, barely-worn cocktail dresses gathering dust in her closet? If so, here's an idea: donate one of your under-used evening gowns to a young lady who could really use it.
The Santana Youth Action Center is looking for dress donations (of the evening gown or cocktail variety) so girls in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles can go to the prom, looking just as stunning as you.
The Santana House Youth Action Center (part of the Violence Intervention Program) opened in February 2007, its mission to help young men and women build positive futures and prevent violence in their own lives, homes and neighborhoods. The Center is open weekday afternoons, early evenings and Sundays, offering computer access, college prep support and programs such as Streetpoets L.A., Theatre Arts, Urban Art, and Nutrition.
They specifically contacted us for help, because they know that Stylephile readers (especially those of you who work in the biz) have closets bursting with gorgeous frocks. So why not share the wealth, ladies? You might make a young lady's Prom Queen dream come true.

We were fresh out of designer gowns here at MiShel Designs, but we did have plenty of 'jewels' to donate to the Santana Youth Action Center. So, we contacted Janet Garrison and she told us 4 pair of earrings would be wonderful and so, they're on their way, hopefully adding some 'bling' to someone's prom night!
