The brides of Cannes 2008

Houses of worship, windy beachside pagodas and landscaped hotel gardens—that's where brides belong. Where they don't belong is on the red carpet.
Sadly, no-one seemed to tell the stylists at Cannes 2008, where you'd be forgiven for thinking a Moonie mass wedding was taking place.
Lucy Liu was the Blushing First-Time Bride, in satiny Roberto Cavalli. Gillian Anderson was the No-Nonsense Thrice-Divorced Bride in Alberta Ferretti. Penélope Cruz was the Cold-Hearted High Fashion Bride in Marchesa at the Vicky Cristina Barcelona premiere. And Eva Longoria Parker out-brided them all, as The Ultimate High-Maintenance Bridezilla in tight-fitting white Atelier Versace.
Methinks it's time for a divorce...
