Mommy Dearest

Rami Kashou shows at SmashboxArtists derive inspiration from nature and nurture, at least in the case of Rami Kashou. The designer's fall 07 collection "A Concerto for Angele"-which showed on Wednesday at Smashbox-is named for and inspired by his perennially well-dressed late mother. The live model installation was heavy with silk fabrications, ruched bodices and dramatically draped skirts in autumn greens, mustards, purples and rusts. Shorter numbers in metallic silver and strapless corseted pieces contrasted with the flowing gowns. As usual, nature and nurture are the ultimate juxtaposition. Ramikashou.com
