Kids in the Hall
Upon arrival at Kevan Hall's show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Thursday night, attendees (including Hayden Panettiere and Vondie Curtis-Hall) had no idea they'd be hopping a flight to Paris. The designer took everyone on an "Urban Jet-Set" tour of the wild blue yonder with pieces for the glamorous traveler. After a recorded pre-flight welcome in French, Italian and English and a reminder to bring seats to an upright and locked position, the show began with a striking wool jumpsuit. Current trends like asymmetrical necklines and bustier topped gowns pervaded, but most impressive were vintage-style "diamante" shirt-dresses with unapologetic collars and sparkling flecks that twinkled like stars. Herringbone suits and coats with metallic thread woven through out also hit big, along with luxe fur pieces (controversial, we know) like a grey plunge neckline chiffon gown with chinchilla cap sleeves.
