Wax Poetic

Get Waxed opens—the first green waxing salon in VeniceConsidering how intimate (READ: invasive) getting waxed can be, it’s a wonder we don’t ask more questions about the products and procedures involved. As Elisha Reverby of new green grooming salon Get Waxed in Venice explains, many estheticians double-dip in the same vat for repeat clients, which is positively unsanitary. Luckily, Reverby not only makes a policy of single dipping, but she created her own biodegradable, organic wax. Afterward, the skin is soothed with aloe vera and tea tree compresses. Plus, the salon itself employs low-VOC paint, biodegradable cleaning and toiletry supplies and energy efficient lighting. Reverby is also the creator of Elique Skin Food To Go, a beauty service that delivers products within 24-hours of mixing. We could wax on and on about that. $10 and up, Get Waxed, 304 Westminster Ave., (310) 396-2929

Love the friendly services, cozy atmosphere. But what seperates them from other places is their descreate location, and you get a discount if you are a local. And trust being from a guy, my wife is happie to have a clean back.
