TOMS shoes giveaway! And Hanson CD!
TOMS Shoes gifts one pair of shoes to an impoverished child for every pair it sells here. It's a noble mission, one we commend. It doesn't hurt that the shoes themselves happen to be comfy and super-stylish.
Because Tom's Shoes loves us almost as much as we love them, they are gifting two pairs to two Stylephile readers. The winners will also get a CD by the newly re-formed Hanson, whom you may remember from their 1997 smash hit "MMMbop". The band is traveling to South Africa with TOMS Shoes this month, where they will donate 50,000 shoes to kids.
Here they are (L to R), Zac, Taylor and Isaac Hanson, looking all grown up, and finally old enough to date. Except all three are married. Oh well.To win a pair of Tom's shoes and a copy of Hanson's album "The Walk", leave a comment describing your favorite pair of shoes. We'll pick two at random. Deadline is Tuesday November 13 at 5 p.m.

I never even wore them: Prada ostridge and the color of good brown leather gloves. They were the most expensive shoe purchase of my life, six inches high and completely unwearable. But, oh, how I coveted them in their hermetically sealed clear plastic box. You can't pay me to wear them and you can't pay me to give them away.

My favorite pair of shoes is my brown leather boots. I can dress them up or down and still look fabulous.Posted by sunchicka | Nov 12 2007 7:05PM
Toms Shoes reminds me of when I came to America seeking refuge from the war in Cambodia. I was just a child and shoes were hard to come by. You were lucky if you had a pair of flip flops because most of us didn''t have a choice but to risk getting the myriad of diseases found in tropical 3rd world countries. My family was extremely poor and we lived in refugee camps for years - so I didn''t get a pair of flipflops until I came to America. I remember seeing Americans wear shoes that covered their entire feet and thought that was only for rich people. With Toms Shoes going back to basics and sharing these simple shoes with the poor in Africa, I''m glad to know at least 50,000 people are going live somewhat of a safer and easier life. When I came to America, I was embarrassed to wear shoes that didn''t cover me entire foot, but now, flipflops are my favorite.Posted by Vantha C | Nov 12 2007 6:52AM

My favorite pair of Toms are the Black and Grey woven, just like Taylor has! They are comfy and match what I wear, plus they provide shoes onto the feet of impoverished children. I love and respect Toms shoes for donating a pair to a child in Africa for every pair I buy. I intend on buying the silver Toms once they are available. Great job Hanson and Toms for your awesome inspiring work!Posted by TarahLuvsTaylor | Nov 11 2007 12:12PM
My favorite pair of shoes would have to be a pair of brown chunky shows I have had for years. I call them my 'Zac Shoes' because they are identical to a pair he wore way back in '97. They are very comfortable and I wear them all the time.Posted by Jena | Nov 11 2007 11:22AM

Embarrasingly enough . . . close your eyes, picture 10th grade circa mid-80s, height of Miami Vice popularity, you know, electric colors and garish glitz (hmmmm, sounds vaguely familiar and not very yesteryear does it) and in I walk fresh from 2 months of summer vacation. My mind was thinking "walk-on for a music video" in my pastel WillieWear linen suit and espadrilles but alas it was home room in an Atlanta, Georgia suburb high school. But ohhhhh those espadrilles. I may not have had that Don Johnson-no shave "look" but no one was going to stop me and those bleach-white, roap-bottomed canvas beauties contrasting on a tan brought all the way back from the Jersey shore (thats another story) as I blew across that tiled green-hued laminant floor to my desk. Fashionalbe peasant-inspired footwear. The moe things change the more they stay the same. Remember his Wayfarers? Bu I digress. Thanks for inspiring a flashback Stylephile!!!Posted by RobSch | Nov 8 2007 4:09PM
A few years ago, for my b-day my bf gave me the cutest hot-pink slippers. With white fur at the top, they are very-glamour girl-like with a black kitty with a pink bow on one slipper (“Glamour puss” representing my recently lost cat Zoe – okay, getting sad now!)… and the other slipper - “Glamour girl”… a chic blonde woman in a little black dress and diamonds, holding a martini glass – they are so comfy and cute. I hope they last forever! I always throw on when I get home, relieved to ditch the heels.Posted by emma w | Nov 8 2007 2:06PM
I will try this again! I have these cute pair of black pumps w/a very low heel. They are compfy, compfy. What more can a girl ask for !Posted by debig | Nov 8 2007 1:38PM
