Creepy Lanvin ads
I had such mixed reactions to the stunning Steven Meisel-shot Lanvin ads of late. I was entranced by the colors, the heavenly flow of that gown, the ghostly opulence. At the same time I found myself shuddering at Russian model Olga Sherer's pale vampire skin, her spindly fingers and menacing stance. Where had I seen them before???
Then I remembered those childhood nightmares I had after watching F. W. Mernau's 1922 creepfest "Nosferatu".
The resemblance is uncanny, wouldnt you say?
Oh, and speaking of scary, what's up with Olga Sherer's protruding chest bones? Girl needs a sandwich.

Someone call 911...not for an ambulance, but to have her agency arrested for attempted... (you get my point). As a bit of a body "dysmorf" myself, I can relate to wanting to be superlatively thin, but this is ghastly.Posted by elb23 | Jan 3 2008 5:38PM
