Relief Shopping
There are still plenty of opportunities to put your shopping dollars to work for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Here¡¦s how to give (and receive):
- Online T-shirt company Threadless is selling a "Regrowth: Katrina" graphic tee for $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Red Cross.
- On Oct. 3, West Hollywood's Steam salon will be giving cuts for $50 (normally $150), conditioning treatments for $20 (normally $60) and blow-outs for $25 ( normally $45), with all of the day's proceeds benefiting the Red Cross. (323) 966-0024
- L.A.'s home furnishings mecca H.D. Buttercup and domino magazine are teaming up Sept. 23rd-25th for a "Shopwarming" event, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Red Cross. (310) 558-8900
- Head to Culver City (3630 Eastham Dr.) Sept. 25 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for a Creative Caring sample sale featuring Lacoste, Joie, Habitual and more. Part of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross, with any unsold items donated to Silver Lake's Dream Center, which is sheltering survivors.
- Shop the web: All proceeds from a selection of fleur de lis tops, bottoms and accessories from Intuition, and delicate Wabi-Sabi and Zen Gems necklaces from Style Council will benefit the Red Cross.
