Oscar, Oscar!
All due respect to Hollywood’s beloved golden statue, but there's a new Oscar in town. As if Melrose Place wasn’t swanky enough, Oscar de la Renta opened his West Coast flagship boutique (the largest in the U.S.) on the row last week. At the opening fiesta, Jennifer Garner played host to fans from Amanda Peet to a Leviev jewelry adorned Kristin Davis (not surprising, since an entire Sex and the City episode was dedicated to a stunning dress by la Renta). Fashion insiders perused the new Oscar de la Renta Home collection (featured only at this location) and decor details from the Dominican Republic, the designer’s native land. Of course, a red carpet event without a philanthropic element is like a sandal with no platform these days. So, the opening celebration benefited EIF's Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
