And It Was All Yellow
This fall and winter black is the new black. Maybe you sport the occasional (gasp!) charcoal, but essentially you’re the queen of darkness. Well, that’s been fabulous and all, but this spring expect to add a little light to your life. From bumblebee to lemon meringue, yellow will brighten up dull closets everywhere as the "it" color for spring. And 7 For All Mankind has created the must-have yellow piece: Side Zip Joyce skinny jeans in pineapple. Not pulled off by the faint of heart, once released in February this tight yellow piece rocks hard with platform and stiletto heels. And the best part is it’s not up against your face, so even yellow-challenged folks can look good. Because black is back, but for spring yellow is much more mellow. $180, NY: Saks Fifth Avenue, 611 Fifth Ave., 877-551-SAKS, saksfifthavenue.com, LA: Politix, 8522 Beverly Blvd., (310) 659-1964

Responding again to Jennie, with an update. Jahqoi has some new items added to the collection. (That's the company owned by my daughter, Anna). Please take a look - if you have time and you'll see a few brighter colors and some prints as well. - Dorez Jahqoi.com

Not all of her styles are clingy. Mostly it's just the tops. She will be adding prints and pants as well as a few more dresses. If you'll go to the site and type in your email address, she'll send you a notice when the new items are added. Thanks for your comments. - DorezPosted by Dorez | Jan 8 2007 9:48PM
Dorez, is your daughter going to come up with something cute and trendy? I have seen her plain styles, but nothing flattering. Looking forward to see her come up with styles that aren't plain and clingy.Posted by Jennie | Jan 8 2007 2:40PM
Those yellow pants are really cute! I wonder if they come in plus-size. As you've heard, I'm sure, it's very difficult to find plus-size clothing that's cute & flattering to BBWs. My daughter is a full-figured girl and she loves to dress trendy. But the cuter the style, the less likely that it'll be available in plus-size. That's one of the reasons my daughter started making her own clothes. She's now a designer, specializing in plus-size clothing. Her company is called Jahqoi. One more thing... I've noticed that even when stores carry larger sizes, they don't advertise that fact anywhere at all! What's up with that??? - DorezPosted by Dorez | Dec 23 2006 12:05PM
