Glendale's culinary world might previously have sparked debates about the best neighborhood taqueria. Now the cocktail crowd is setting up shop at Minx, an upscale eatery and lounge created by all-star team Margaret "Peg" O'Brien (designer of La Boheme and buzzed-about Republic), James Beard honored Executive Chef Joseph Antonishek (Raffles L'Ermitage, Fenix at the Argyle), plus veterans from Mastro's Steakhouse, Garden of Eden, and star-studded Mood. Globally inspired cuisine includes tidbits like braised short-ribs with lobster mashed potatoes and the signature MINX-rated martini with lime, cranberry, and blood orange juice. $30-$50 per person, minx-la.com
