You’re a slave to your "stories." No, not the ever so slightly embellished tales you tell friends at dinner parties, but the soaps you swear by on T.V. They’ve taken you through sick days in middle school, hung over afternoons in college and now, thanks to TIVO, they are there when you return from work—yes, you have a job! And the most brilliant truth about these soaps is that—even when you stopped watching for a while during that trip to Nairobi (because why else would you miss your shows?)—when you returned, the plot hadn’t really changed so much.
