Who Am I?

Ah, those were the days. It was the early '70s and I was that guy in high school that every girl wanted to...well, confide in. I loved to listen to them carp about "mean Bobby" and "fickle Frank" and then I would snake an arm around their skinny, soft shoulders and just...squeeze. I can still recall the powdery sweet scent of Love's Baby Soft if I close my eyes and think back.

Now, I'm a big director and I get to go to Cannes and wear tuxedos (though I rarely do) and I could make a film about the Love's Baby Soft factory and how they mistreat their workers. If you can guess who I am AND give me ONE great fashion tip, you could win KenzoAmour perfume ($50; see sephora for description). It's even better than Love's, I swear.

Come on, ladies. Make me look sick! (That was a hint.)

WINNER IS... SCL, for "I love using scarves as belts because they give that extra burst of color." The thought of Michael Moore cinched by an Hermes belt made me spit Diet Coke through my nose. SCL - send your address to Monica.Corcoran@Variety.com and I will send you the Kenzo perfume. Thanks to everyone for playing!

Michael Moore - While in Cannes, why not buy a bottle of French perfume that knocks the socks off of Love's Baby Soft. Then after a nice bottle of French wine, romance will be in the air!

Always be yourself, it's much more appealing to be natural. Walk softly and carry a big stick!

Who wouldn't recognize Michael Moore? Hackensack University Medical center carries Nicole Miller hospital wear. If her whimsical prints ain't your style...Perhaps a “ free size” pair of scrubs? Plain or printed fabric or a nice Herring Bone weave?

michael moore - start wearing love's baby soft scent!

MICHAEL MOORE - and I still think he needs to lose the damned baseball cap.

Lose the damned baseball cap

Posted by JV | Jun 29 2007 10:04AM

Michael Moore and the fashion tip is always keep your appearance well groomed.. whether it's the most expensive haberdashery or the scruffy hipster look, keep it well maintained.

Posted by ALEKSANDRA | Jun 29 2007 7:25AM

Dear Michael Moore...ditch the baseball cap and try for the Che look with a jaunty beret!

Posted by Malinda | Jun 28 2007 6:32PM

Michael Moore. My tip? A hat. Not a seed cap, an actual hat. Check out Rod Keenan. He'll even custom design one just for you. P.S - Keep up the good work.

Wow, Michael Moore didn't look too bad back in the day. I guess to the Michael Moore of today, I would suggest losing some weight. That would solve a world of fashion and health issues for this man: clothes would fit better, he would look better (even if he still wears his hair the way he does...totally without any ounce of style), he would feel better, he could reduce the chances of some major health issues he will probably face in the future. Maybe if he starts feeling better he can make happy movies?!

Well, I see that others have guessed that the person is MICHAEL MOORE. The fashion tip that I would suggest is: Please Michael wear clean pressed clothes that fit and are in good repair. I would also like him to know that the smuggness and views that have been stuck in the early 1970''s isn''t always the best way to get information accross to people. You are not clever and you haven''t done anything new. Have a brilliant day and an even better tomorrow. In the Spirit, Sue Morales-Finckel PS: Michael, life is to be lived, not viewed through a camera.

You are Michael Moore and my fashion tip is Armani eyeglass frames. It's OK to indulge sometimes on something that defines signature style even if it's out of the reach of the Common Man for whom you fight. If you must wear glasses, wear them with flair!

The guy featured in the photo is Michael Moore.... As for the fashion tip, this may sound weird but it totally works. If you have oily skin or are just sweaty this summer, you can use the toilet seat covers ( a clean one of course!!) to blot your skin and whisk away any of that shine.

You were cute then and you''re cute now Michael Moore! You''re kind ear lead to your seminary work as a filmmaker. My fashion advice is to continue bucking the trends and forge your own fashion trends. Cool cotton short sleeved shirts in fabulous but manly summer colors. And the trend you should start is wearing a red bandaged around your hand to represent the millions w/o healthcare in this country.

let me amend my previous comment...smile, it increases your face value!

Michael Moore and the tip is Weight Watchers.

Posted by Pamtierney | Jun 28 2007 11:16AM

oh my gosh. i swear i didn''t read the entry before mine before i wrote that! i''m glad someone else had the same vision. but sad that i came off as the ripoff. :(

Posted by canxdice | Jun 28 2007 11:08AM

Michael Moore, of course! Keep up the good work on the weight loss (look to another favourite of mine, Peter Jackson, for healthy inspiration) and most importantly, as you continue to lose weight - more important even than what you are wearing - remember to buy new clothes that fit the new you. Even casualwear (which you and I both prefer) will look better if it's the correct size!

Posted by Maryte | Jun 28 2007 11:07AM

Michael Moore. Two words: vertical stripes.

Posted by canxdice | Jun 28 2007 11:06AM

You are, of course, Michael Moore. My one piece of style advise - lose those terrible caps you wear all the time. I'd go for NO hat at all while in public, but if you must, maybe a nice stylish hat. Think George Clooney, not Kevin Federline!

Posted by David | Jun 28 2007 10:59AM

Oh Michael Moore...two words - VERTICAL STRIPES :)

Posted by Viva Las Vegas | Jun 28 2007 10:53AM

Where he might be mistaken for a young Tarantino, he is Michael Moore - and my fashion tip for him would be at least a year in therapy. Number one, a good therapist can reduce the rapid onset of gray hair and worry lines through simple exercises - like hypnotherapy, anger management, and even word association. Two? I'm kind of tired of directors (like Tarantino) who work out their personal issues on film instead of under the care of a trained professional. Third? chicks dig self-actualized, unembittered men...

Posted by kelp30 | Jun 28 2007 10:53AM

Michael Moore. Take off the hat. ANd shave.

Posted by Lisa | Jun 28 2007 10:52AM

Michael Moore, of course. How about contacts instead of glasses?

Posted by LJ | Jun 28 2007 10:50AM

Michael Moore; Wearing a tailored blazer would be figure-flattering and would say "Successful Director" more than his standard Member's Only-style jackets.

Posted by Sarah | Jun 28 2007 9:51AM

Clearly Michael Moore! I love using scarves as belts because they give that extra burst of color.
