It’s Like Butter
Trying to pair your waist belt with printed leggings and pleated shorts can be tricky. Often you end up looking more like an escaped asylum inmate than a fashion plate. Not to mention the difficulty of appearing put-together for more formal days. Enter new refined everyday line Bread and Butter. Brazilian designer living in Venice Daisy Linhares’ first fashion endeavor was Mothballs, which involved deconstructing and modernizing vintage cashmere sweaters. Now she’s simplified things, creating flattering feminine rayon dresses and tops that pleat, often cinch at the rip cage, and dip modestly at the neckline. So they’re perfect for work or play, and yes, can still be paired with those leggings. $115-$190, barneys.com
