Love You Madley
"Log cabin folks" evoke images of bearded mountain men and tough women, who skin rabbits in seconds flat with nary a flinch. While such nature-bound hermits may exist in Northern California's log cabins, surprisingly so did designer Coryn Madley. Of course then the hot young designer-to-be moved to Venice, attended RISD and experienced Central St. Martins in London before opening her brand new spot Madley Boutique on Electric Avenue. Inspired by treasures from her grandmother’s closet (very Venice) and elements of biology and nature (um, woods), Madley combines vintage fabrics and hand-dyed yarns to create bohemian, punk, almost patchwork pieces with a feminine spin. Fans and attendees to her opening fete hosted by actress Shiva Rose included Rose’s husband Dylan McDermott and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Sienna Miller is also a wearer. The store also sells wares by Kime Buzelli, Vena Cava, Harteau, Clothesline and Evil Genius.
