Ye Ole Redwood Rises Again
Arg! No, that wasn’t an "I just stubbed my toe and hate life" arg. That was a swashbuckler-themed Redwood Bar & Grill opens today (National Talk Like a Pirate day) downtown Arg. An all-star team helms the refurbished restaurant with former Golden Gopher GM Christian Frizzell, entrepreneur Dev Dugal, Chef Jason Michaud formerly of Cobras and Matadors, and designer Fred Sutherland of Fred 62 and Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce fame. Described as “more Amerigo Vespucci than Pirates of the Caribbean,” the spot will
ideally recall the restaurant’s heyday, attracting a velvet rope clientele with dishes from fried catfish burgers to pan seared scallop risotto with orange and grapefruit segments. Average entrée $9 (lunch) $14 (dinner), $14 316 W. 2nd St., (213) 680-2600

Probably one of the best bars in Los Angeles. The owners are really nice and the staff is awesome.
