Vintage Dior sale on Yoox.com, starts tomorrow!
There's nothing dignified about scrambling for a sale, but when the scramble is for 100 or so vintage Dior couture pieces then what the heck...scramble away. Tomorrow marks the launch of Italian online retailer YOOX.com's much-anticipated Dior Couture sale, where you can pick up vintage sunglasses, houndstooth twin sets and a rather fabulous pink turban, all dating from the 1940s to today. Yoox.com founder Federico Marchetti scoured estate sales, private collections and Christie's auctions, handpicking the items , which also include a haute couture cocktail dress from 1967 that once belonged to Maria Félix, and a 1960s amethyst and rhinstone necklace owned by fashion journalist Adriana Grassi. Prices range from in the hundreds all the way up to $9,990, with items tracing the evolution of the house, from Christian Dior to Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré, and now, John Galliano. The sale starts tomorrow, June 4, at www.yoox.com. Set your alarms early.
