Ticket giveaway: Does fame equal fortune?

Tackling a subject close to the Stylephile's heart, Fashion Group International of Los Angeles is holding a panel discussion about the value of red carpet product placement, moderated by LA fashionista Rose Apodaca (former WWD West Coast bureau chief, pictured), along with fashion experts Mona May (costume designer "Enchanted"), Eduardo Castro (costume designer, "Ugly Betty"), Cameron Silver (co-owner of Decades), George Blodwell (celebrity stylist) and Susan Ashbrook of Film fashion PR. They'll talk about what happens once a product appears in film or TV, and whether it's worth the hassle of trying to get it there in the first place. We suspect it is. Why else would film product placement be such big business? And why else would David Lynch have all this to say about it?
The event takes place on Tuesday February 26 at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in downtown LA, and afterwards you'll get a guided tour of the FIDM Gallery's exhibit of Oscar 2008 nominated costumes.
