GO GREEN: Be Cause

Matt Damon’s environmental concerns are voiced in the next Journey to Planet EarthYou’re D-List without a cause these days. Ashton is healing the world with Kabbalah bracelets, Brangelina is saving countless African and Asian children during play-dates with Madonna’s new Malawan baby, and Britney is finally getting rid of K-Fed (ahem, Fed-Ex) so maybe the rest of the world doesn’t have to stare at his grill anymore. Tabloid rags are soon to be safe once again. Well Matt Damon has been lending a quieter and (dare we suggest?) classier hand to his cause of choice: the environment. As the narrator of PBS award-winning series Journey to Planet Earth, he's now putting the finishing touches on the next episode, "The State of the Ocean's Animals," which will air on March 28th at 8 p.m. Damon’s narration explores the reason why many of the world's marine animals and also popular seafood choices may be on the verge of extinction. Endangered creatures include Emperor penguins, sea otters, whales, dolphins and sea turtles and surprisingly common menu options like Chilean Seabass, Alantic Halibut, and Bluefin Tuna to name a few. Thanks to Damon’s help (and of course filmmakers Hal & Marilyn Weiner) hopefully these creatures won’t soon join The Departed. pbs.org/journeytoplanetearth/
