Un-sensible scent: Homage Attar by Amouage
During a recession, is it possible to justify spending $360 on a tiny bottle of perfume oil? When it's Homage Attar by Amouage, maybe. It takes an entire field of roses to create just one 12ml bottle which, with its potent blend of rose Taifi, silver Frankincense, Tayyiba (jasmine), sweet amber, white musk, silver oud and Al Andalus notes is rich and fecund, like a pregnant Donald Trump.
Created by Amouage for its 25th Anniversary, only a small drop needs to be applied to the pulse points, allowing the heavy, multi-faceted fragrance to develop over many hours.
As with buying $2,800 tubs of La Prairie Caviar Luxe face cream or Ginza Tanaka's $1.9 million platinum handbag, there can be a certain guilt involved in such indulgence. But for those who believe money was meant to be blown, you can buy your microscopic bottle of Homage Attar here.
(Broke? Order scented blotters of the fragrance here.)
