Vera Wang's new L.A. outposts
Women's Wear Daily reports
that Vera Wang will open its first freestanding Lavender Label on Melrose Avenue next year, next to Marc by Marc Jacobs and across the street from where she will open her first West Coast bridal store.Both stores are set to open in fall 2008.
New York designer Wang, who made a cameo appearance on "Ugly Betty" on November 8, will be neighbors with Diane von Furstenberg, a few doors west, and Catherine Malandrino.
Did you know that Vera Wang was once an accomplished figure skater? She became involved in fashion after failing to make the Olympics, and was a senior editor at "Vogue" for several years before becoming a fashion designer.
