Getting The Boot
Uggs. You own them. You love them. You resent them. You wear them out on the town. You wear them only in the house. You adore them with skirts. You swear by them with skinnies. The point is you have a strong opinion . . . about boots. Well, it’s only fitting that the Australian line that garners almost as much attention as its celebrity fans should let those stars customize their own pairs. From December 1 through December 14 Uggs decorated by the likes of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Ripa, Ashton Kutcher, Cindy Crawford, Matthew McConoughey, designer Betsey Johnson and more were auctioned off to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, recognized for their work in researching cures for cancer and other terrible diseases. Overall, the auction raised $39,123 for the charity. Meanwhile the highest single bid turned out to be $9,278 for McConoughey's Uggs. Another standout was $6,300 for Betsey Johnson’s hot pink bedazzled version—talk about literally star-studded. Uggaustralia.com
