Making Scents of Spring
Known for its personalized fragrance blending for Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank and anyone who happens into its Carmel store, Ajne Perfumerie & Apothecary also offers Prêt-à-Porter scents, using hard-to-find botanicals and essential oils that work with body chemistry rather than overpowering it. Case in point: Gardenia can be a bit much in a bottle, but spring faves Printemps (linden flowers, South Pacific barks and woods) and Fleur Blanche (rich florals, woods, fruits) mimic the scent delicately, like the lush white flower floating in the wind. Printemps, $110-$125; Fleur Blanche, $175-$205.
