Prefab-ulous Bachelor Pad
Want a designer pad? Done. (Well, it’s almost that easy.) Top L.A. architects Marmol and Radziner offer four eco-friendly prefab home models, ranging from 660-2,650 interior square feet with plenty of deck space (a two-story model will be available in 2006). Starting at $215,000, these sleek factory-made modules are constructed with recycled steel frames, solar panels and structural insulated panels. And while the prices may seem amazingly reasonable, don't forget you need a piece of land to put the model house on. MR prefab homes are only approved for use in California at the moment. marmolradzinerprefab.com
