Take a Paige out of this book..and win some jeans.

For many of us, it takes a lifetime of trial and error to figure out what clothes actually flatter our bodies.
My best friend in London has one of the biggest bottoms I have ever seen, but she has figured out how to dress it so it looks feminine and proud.
I am tiny/petite/short and have learned how to elongate myself through smoke, mirrors and high-heeled cowboy boots.
That said, I still get it wrong on a regular basis, which is where a book like Paige Adams-Geller's "Your Perfect Fit" could come in handy. A former model, Adams-Geller (pictured) founded the hugely popular brand Paige Premium Denim. The book, co-written with fitness and lifestyle consultant Ashley Borden, works its way through each part of the body and shows you how best to dress it, depending on your shape.
What she tells us is mainly good, common sense advice. Like don't wear tank tops if you are conscious of your thick arms. Or if you have narrow shoulders, do wear 1940s style peplum blazers. And if you have been cursed with a short bouncer's neck, steer clear of turtlenecks.
There are some other gems, that I would never have thought of. Like, if your tummy's on the Tellytubby side, don't carry a large purse, or wear a bolero jacket, as these draw attention to the gut area. Don't eat sugary things before a night out—it can make your breath stinky! And if you're bootylicious like my friend in London, don't buy jeans with small pockets.
Each section is followed up by a fitness plan offering specific exercises designed to shape and tone a specific body area. And there's a diet plan at the back of the book too. Buy it here.
Paige Adams-Geller has offered to gift one Stylephile reader a pair of her Blue Heights skinny jeans (pictured). To win, simply leave a comment tells us about your favorite pair of jeans. Deadline for entries is Tuesday January 15 at 5PM.

My fave jeans were made by Diesel-- the only pair i've ever found which were perfect in length [short- 5'3] and waist! They stopped making that style a few years back, and i've never found a replacement perfect pair! gracejehan@mac.com

My absolute favorite pair of jeans were purchased nearly 8 years ago from Arden B. Tagged as my original pair of "going out" jeans, they had a nice dark color, very slight flare, and were a perfect fit on the hips, thighs, and behind. Not only that, but I didn''t have to constantly pull them up by the belt loops. After a couple years of wearing and washing, they faded a bit and shrank in length. That was no problem because they became my "everyday" jeans worn with tennis shoes, flats, and flip flops. The funny thing about getting a new pair of jeans is that the old pairs get the boot(cut) and are sent to the back of the closet. Not these, though. I''m still wearing them, but they do need to retire. Thanks to itchy winter skin, I''ve scraped most of the denim off the thighs. However, despite the fading, they still are the perfect length for flats and make my butt look amazing!

Whatever happened to 100% cotton jeans? Remember them? They were thick, fit snuggly around your ass when you washed them and then got baggy after a ton of wears. I had a pair of Sevens that were 100% cotton that I wore until they literally disintegrated off my body. I'm tired of the thin jeans that are more legging than jean. Let's bring back the real jean of yesteryear!

My favorite jeans passed away eight months ago, slowly killed by a growing tumor (my ass). They were survived by many inferior pairs. Together, we are muddling through, but could really use a replacement to bring us from darkness to light.

Surely it is fate that has brought me here today. I was googling to find a discount subscription to Variety for a friend and came upon this opportunity. As I type, I am sitting here in my all-time-favourite, thread-bare (I'm not exaggerating, these things are like tissue-paper) XOXO jeans my "personal stylist" (read, gay boyfriend) picked up for me for 2.97 when he was styling displays at JCPenney. I s#it you not! Two nights ago, my bottom (which never looked better in a pair of jeans in my life) finally found it's way through, just beneath the left back pocket. Yesterday, I forgot the previous night's experience and wore the damn things - split open backside and all - to an audition. Quelle horreur! In summary, I am now in dire need of a new pair of favourite jeans, lest I wear these out in public again.

Jeans, are like an old friend. They give you comfort and make you feel good. They have sentimental value as they have traveled with you on life's journey. And they are like fine wine becoming better with time!

My favorite pair of Jeans are my old Polos. Just the right mix of tight and loose.

On my 40th birthday, I was feeling depressed and a little lost. I wasn't really sure how to dress my age, and although it might have been my imagination, it felt as though I had become invisible because no one noticed me anymore. On my lunch break I passed by a jeans store and mustering up my courage, I went in. I tried on numerous pairs before I hit the right one. It was like magic! I felt confident and hip-even the 20-something salesgirl was a little impressed! They were Paige Melrose jeans, and every time I put them on it gives me the courage to keep looking in the mirror every day-only now instead of looking at what is wrong with my face I look at what is right with my behind! What a wonderful feeling!

Well, I buy 90% of my girlfriends' wardrobe. Not only because I can afford it, but selfishly too because, well let's just say she's fashionably challenged. Jeans are my most difficult task, naturally. My faves on her right now are Miss Sixty because she's curvy with a round bottom and they don't give so much. It would be cool of yours work! We'd be permanent fans and she could even be liberated and buy em herself!

i heard paige jeans are very flattering- i'd love a pair

JEANS AND WINE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON. THE OLDER THEY ARE, THE BETTER THEY ARE. MY FAVORITE PAIR ARE 25 YRS. OLD. THEY ARE THE CHEAPEST I''VE EVER OWNED, THEY FEEL LIKE THEY ARE PART OF MY SKIN AND BEST OF ALL THEY STILL LOOK GREAT!

Posted by vicki | Jan 9 2008 8:06PM

i am a poor cinderella with a pumpkin-shaped butt who has been desperately searching ... not for the PRINCE (we all know THAT''''s a waste of time!) ... but for a great pair of jeans! i am in dire need of a jean fairy godmother! Could it be Paige Adams Geller?

Posted by jacqui not onassis | Jan 9 2008 5:46PM

i love my true religions. they have just enough stretch in them to be confortable in any position and enough structure to give my legs and butt that extra omph! speaking of butts...my ass looks perky and bootylicious in those jeans (or so I've been told ;) ). last, but certainly not least, the dark wash is rich enough to go from work to a big, fabulous night out on the town.

Posted by cynmaster | Jan 9 2008 3:17PM

My favorite pair of jeans are dark blue and frayed on the hems from going out in them so much! i'd love a new pair that havent been 'road hard and put up wet'..but no matter how scraggly the bottoms may look, my favorite jeams ALWAYS look great on! Feeling bloated or bangin', the jeans always look good! Rolled up in a ball on the floor or just out of the washing machine, they keep their shape and i feel wonderful putting them on!

Posted by Meg | Jan 9 2008 3:14PM

My favorite pair of jeans is a higher rise pair that doesn't look like mom jeans. I need a higher rise to cover up my post-childbirth stomach but don't want to sacrifice style along the way. stigay at comcast.net

Posted by Sarah | Jan 9 2008 12:33PM

I bought my favorite pair of jeans from Urban Outfitters when I was feeling totally broke. They are light blue, straight leg, low rise, a little slouchy, and they literally go with EVERYTHING. The best part? I got to the cashier to buy them and they were a style that was being phased-out so they had been the only pair at the back of the shelf... and were only $10.00. Awesome!

I luv my wranglers and i luv Bret Farve

Posted by Livy | Jan 9 2008 10:27AM

my fave jeans fit best after being laundered. otherwise, the waist gets loose.

Posted by aptlife | Jan 8 2008 10:27PM

I've got a few pairs of jeans that I'd normally wear, but this one I really like is a black skinny-legged from H&M. It was the last pair my size in the shop, and I've been wearing it half way round the world now!

Posted by porwanna | Jan 8 2008 8:35PM

My favorite pair of jeans were Levi's - they totally looked like the "Traveling Pants" jeans and brought me good luck (seriously!). Levi's stopped making them and I (foolishly) lent them to a friend and never got them back (b**ch). That's when I found out Levi's stopped making them - and the pair that I bought to try and replace them kept doing that weird seam-turning thing at the ankle. Not the same. So now I just go through life in mediocre jeans. Nothing special, you know, like a rebound relationship.

Posted by Moto | Jan 8 2008 5:23PM

How about the guys? Nothing feels better than your favorite pair of jeans. Nothing makes you look better and give you a boost than a good fitting pair of jeans. And NOTHING makes a guy's butt look better than the right jeans. Lately I've been partial to my Levi's 511 jeans that have just a tiny bit of stretch to them so that they fit snugly, but move with you. I'm ready to try some PPD's, though...

Posted by MikeGambit | Jan 8 2008 4:58PM

my favorite pair of jeans was just recently stolen from a public laundromat. i finally found a pair that didn't slip off my waist but gave me room in my butt and not too wide in the hips. drats!

Posted by girlylibrrarian | Jan 8 2008 4:08PM

First off, I have searched high and low for jeans that fit me. I wear a 36" inseam -which is becoming widely popular now - and that is always a challenge to find. 34" are way too short, especially with heels. Then there's the issue that I have no rear. It's perhaps the flattest rear anybody has ever had, so I need a bit of spandex in the jean to cling to that area. The worst look is walking around with a baggy butt, I hate that look!! Finally, I'm not the skinniest of them (nor the biggest), but its a challenge to find the right size since I always seem to be in between. With all this, the ONLY pair I've ever found I can wear is from Top Shop in London! Of course, it had to be somewhere far away! I would absolutely LOVE to try a pair of these Paige jeans. I have pretty much tried on every single pair of jeans out there and I yet have to find the perfect ones! Maybe one day I can stop in the Paige Premium Denim store for some professional assistance! Thanks!

Sadly, my favorite pair of jeans just died. They were Ben Sherman "Shrimpton" skinnies, found on the racks at TJ Maxx in 2004 just before the skinny trend hit the American mainstream. I felt so mod in them, and they got so wonderfully soft and broken-in. Unfortunately I wore them so much that they developed holes in the knees, seat and crotch.

Posted by Heather | Jan 8 2008 3:39PM

i have many pairs of jeans but default to my paige ones whenever possible (i.e. they are clean). i just got a pair of boots that would look great with jeans tucked in and these skinny jeans would be perfect!

Posted by julieej | Jan 8 2008 3:24PM

my favorite jeans fit like a tuxedo.

Posted by corrected | Jan 8 2008 2:53PM

The most amazing jeans I've ever owned are my Paige Melrose Las Palmas Midnite Rockers. They were worth ever penny as I feel like a million bucks every time I wear them (which is absurdly often!). I LOVE Paige!

Posted by MelissaD | Jan 8 2008 2:50PM

I happen to be wearing my favorite jeans as I type this! They're Paige "Fairfax" and every time I wear them I get compliments. They have pockets on the butt and fit really well through the hips and legs. Love them! Need more!

Posted by Holly | Jan 8 2008 2:07PM

I've had a complex ever since "hipster jeans" have come out! However; I've found that without hanging out of the top or showing too much "crack" Victoria's Secret makes a new pair of jeans with a "V" cut in front and a decent rise in back. NO MUSHROOM HIPS! They run about $80.00 which in comparison...is not too bad these days. I love William Rast-I have no idea how Justin Timberlake has found someone who can fit a woman so well, though I am a single Mom on disability so the $200-300+ is out of my price range. I do feel having at least two great fitting pairs of jeans is a must (I just cannot afford them!) I have always been an yo-yo dieter ranging from size 00 - 5 and finally settled in about a 3 juniors. At 39, there are quite more important things in life than going up a size. I would like to start seeing woman covered - still fitting and flattering but comfortable. I would LOVE to win these jeans! Bernadette

I'm curvy, voluptuous and fit with a "marilyn monroe" type of physique. I've almost given up on finding a pair of jeans that fit and look good! But I'm nothing if not optimistic --there must be that perfect pair out there for me somewhere!

Posted by sepiaura | Jan 8 2008 1:12PM

I'm 5'8" and barely 100 pounds. Ever since I was a kid I've had trouble finding a good pair of jeans. In high school my pants were either high-waters that fit, or "baggy britches" (as my friends liked to call them) that didn't show my socks put had to be tightly wrapped with a belt around my waist out of fear of them falling off. I finally found a pair of Express jeans during college that fit well, felt comfortably, and looked great too. Unfortunately Express changed the cuts of their jeans and I've yet to find another pair like these. They are about 5 years old now, and I baby them since I know that they can't be replaced. I wash them inside out and try to wear them at least twice before washing.

Posted by katzy1 | Jan 8 2008 1:11PM

I too am tiny/short/petite but have not yet resorted to using smoke, mirrors or high-heeled cowboy boots (however I will make a note of that).. :) I love 2 different types of denim....Lux from Urban Outfitters which is always under $100 a pair... and if I'm saving up to buy a pair of Frankie B Denim...great for small/petite types. I do have heaps of trouble trying to find denim to fit my short little legs ... always looking for more...maybe Paige is my magic fit!! :)

Posted by Rebeks | Jan 8 2008 1:08PM

As pitiful as it is, I don't have a favorite pair of jeans. I can't really afford a high end pair of jeans and just have never found a pair that really looks good on me. I have slender, if not skinny legs and no bottom, so I have a hard time finding a pair of jeans that is flattering on me. I do however LOVE the look of Paige's jeans and would love to win a pair to try. Thanks so very much for a wonderful contest !!

Posted by tholix | Jan 8 2008 12:59PM

Being a jean fanatic, I make it my mission to try on and buy as many pairs of denim as I can! I think that JBrand and Tavernitii and So have the best comfort and fit and I love their jeans. However I do think that the cost of jeans has gone a little bananas! It! jeans are fabulous and about 1/10 of the price! that's my style tip for today! thanks

I lust after Paige jeans but can't afford them right now. This summer I sold a bunch of my clothes on ebay so that I could buy a pair. I found some in my size. Brand new. I bid on them. I WON! The seller never sent them. I called her. I emailed her. I went through paypal to contact her. I went through the ebay claims department. To no avail. Now I am here denimless and out of a bunch of cash. Pick me pick me! I am desperate!

Posted by CMW | Jan 8 2008 12:26PM

My Paige Laurel Canyon jeans fit me better than any other jeans on earth. They go with absolutely everything, can be dressed up or down, and make you feel fab even on fat days. I am dying to try her skinny jeans style!

Posted by tks | Jan 8 2008 12:23PM

My favorite pair of jeans is from the Express. They are a size too big and way too baggy but they are so comfortable! The cuffs are fraying from being washed so many times, but I swear it gives them character! My husband cringes when he sees me wearing them. I would die for a pair of jeans that actually made me look hot at 36-does such an item even exist? I am in pretty good shape too, I just don''t know what to look for...guess I need to check out Paige''s book!

Posted by jctimon | Jan 8 2008 12:20PM

It's a pair I bought at Urban Outfitters a year ago. I had to get them hemmed, but they fit great everywhere else. The rise is very low and they have a slight boot cut.

Posted by Jenni | Jan 8 2008 12:13PM

Joe's Jeans Socialite quickly became my "going out" jeans since they made me look and feel amazing! I've heard rave reviews about Paige though and have been dying to try them.

Posted by goldengurrl@hotmail.com | Jan 8 2008 11:47AM

I REALLY like the Paige Jeans very much, however, I have tried many times, many stores to find a pair for me, WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS! Very frustrating. Along the way, I ended up with a pair of Joe's Jeans ( I like them, but one size is too big, and one size lower is too small (short at the crotch) look Great, but are Extremely UNCOMFORTABLE! so rarely wear them, despite being newish, and very expensive. The ONLY two pairs of jeans that I wear on a regular basis (one pair also purchased while looking for PAIGE jeans) are: Blue cult, but bottom of leg is wide by Skinny jeans standards, but thye are A GREAT FIT. The othes are skinny, (found while shopping for PAIGE JEANS) are, CITIZENS OF HUMANITY - THEY FIT GREAT, BUT ARE BABY BLUE. claireb-adpro@juno.com Ms. Claire Beaulieu

You know, Levi's have always done well by me. I've got a pair of slocuh straight-leg 504's, before they went and put stupid whiskers on them. They make me look longer and thinner. They also fit my shelf butt.

My favorite jeans are a pair of Juicy Couture jeans circa 2001 that my husband bought for me on our honeymoon. They fit so perfect, not too high and not too low and are still in style after all these years. I have had 2 children since then and am finally able to wear them again! (size 28) :-)

Simply put, great jeans are the great leveler. No matter what your size, age or economic bracket, jeans that fit you well make the most of any topper, from casual to evening-out. And, at the other end, the look changes with the choice of flats, booties, boots or mile-high heels. My faves are Sevens and Sands. Great cuts, superb denim,

whether they're dirty and in slouch mode or spankin clean and crisp, my levis jeans always treat me with the most flattering respect. i'm a bit of a denim whore, but my vintage levis are always a 'go-to'. they look fabulous with a slinky black top or a ratty t-shirt. would love to slip into another pair of jeans that make me feel that good.

Posted by piper | Jan 8 2008 11:10AM

My bell bottoms. I realize now that they were my first of the low waisted jeans and that is why they fit right. Unfortunately, I wore high waisted jeans until low rise finally came back.

My favorite are my vigoss skinny jeans. I never thought I'd be able to wear, much less fit in, skinny jeans. I have a hard time finding jeans that flatter my figure. But when I do, they always help me to boost my confidence!

Totally not trying to kiss up here, but I am in love with my Paige Rising Glen Jeans. They sit higher than most jeans out on the market. I can go out to dinner and actual EAT (I know, too good to be true) and not stress that the rest of the night I have to suck in. Thanks Paige, for making a jean for real women.

Posted by Casey | Jan 8 2008 10:54AM

I love my True Virtue jeans...they make my legs look long and skinny and I am only 5'2. I got them at American Rag and spent too much on them....but it was worth it!

Posted by jennifer | Jan 8 2008 10:53AM

My favorite pair of jeans was more like an art experience that happened during the 80s. They were wide in the leg, tapered at the ankle, and had, instead of traditional seams, tiny flags running down the length of each outer seam. Glorious! I was about 14, and needed to make a real fashion statement. So I drew on those jeans with markers. I drew brooding angels, hearts and daggers, mandalas, dragons, take-me-seriously spiderwebs and quotes from all my favorite authors (Poe in turquoise! Faulkner in magenta!). When I, a suburban girl, wore those jeans in New York's East Village, punks on the street stopped and stared in admiration and jean-lust. Those jeans gave me urban fashion cred in the most fashion-demanding city in the world, and launched my life of fashion-daring!

Posted by JamieK | Jan 8 2008 10:52AM

There are a pair of Seven jeans with camp pockets on the front and no rear pockets. The cut makes by butt look smoking with its higher yoke. It hits me in just the right spot. Of course, the denim is darker, which always help to make you look smaller. But, it really is time to find another pair that is equally as flattering. Maybe you can help.

I have a set of 19 year old boy/girl twins and a set of 17 year old triplet girls. That's right, 5 kids in two years. I took up rowing about two years ago and can finally wear jeans again! My favorite pair of jeans will be the pair I am about to purchase to celebrate getting my body back!

Posted by Cynthia | Jan 8 2008 10:44AM

My favorite pair of jeans are my J & Company jeans. They are so comfortable and with my 5'9 frame, they actually reach the floor! It's getting a lot easier now to find long jeans, but for a while, I couldn't find any!

Posted by Briana | Jan 8 2008 10:43AM

My #1 faves are a pair of AGs that were hand-me-overs from a friend who had just gotten pregnant...and would never be fitting into them again, sadly. i took them to the seamstress and had her turn the boot cut into skinny. they rock...but they're more worn OUT than worn IN! would love to replace them with Paige Premiums, of course.

The pair of jeans that probably got the most wear in my life was a pair of American Eagle jeans that I got for super-cheap off of ebay when I started college. They were cute, they made my butt look great, and I wore them every day, everywhere. I still have them, but they're starting to wear pretty thin around the pockets and the thighs. ;) But I keep them because wearing them reminds me of my college days!

Posted by Prettywarrior | Jan 8 2008 10:38AM

I am obsessed with my James Jeans. They actually do a skinny leg that I (of the short, chunky legged variety) can wear!

My favorite pair of jeans are a pair of Levis I bought in 1974. I have a terrible time finding jeans to fit my 4'11" self. Back in the day, Levis sold their jeans by length and width. Now they start at 28" insems and up. 28" is too long for me. I hate the way they bunch up at the bottom. I like a smooth fit.
