Bowled Over
The only story your dishware tells is a sordid tale of last night’s spaghetti and a lazy lady who left the plates in the sink. Fascinating. Artecnica’s Table Stories dinnerware line might liven things up, as the California-based design firm offers porcelain and glass with beautiful and elaborate graphic schemes that just begin to border kitschy. Dishware is screened over clear glass, while bowls and plates in white porcelain are patterned on both sides in blue, red or light gray. Spiders, flowers, peacocks and even deer emerge in these elaborate designs, which seem to amble freely in and out of the bowls. Interiors and exteriors merge telling, yes, a story.
