Desireable denim

For the most far-out flares:

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. And thus the skinny jean boom of the last three years has resulted in this, the most mahoosive pair of bellbottoms we've seen this side of 1974. Try these wide-leggers by Goldsign ($216.00 from Nieman Marcus)

For the best day-glo:
We love Odyn denim because they really do have something for everyone, from super-skinny jeans in day-glo shades like Jack Lemon, Purple Rain, Red Skeleton, Disco Turquoise and Fuscia, to their high rise trousers with flared legs, and their simple, unadorned boot cuts for denim conservatives.

For the best low-key denim:

If it's all getting a little wild for you, then we can also recommend A.P.C.'s classic raw denim unisex jean. Described as "neither high nor low cut", and with styles that are neither flared nor skinny, this is M.O.R. denim at its finest! Also check out the Swedish brand Acne, which has a terrible name but makes great, unfussy denim. Try their Hep Raw jeans, available at Barneys New York

For the manliest styles:
Guys, you can't go wrong wth a good pair of Dior Homme jeans. With or without Hedi Slimane, this is denim at its most haute. Choose their Japanese MIJ (rather than "MII", Made in Italy) jeans, and remember that these jeans will stretch about an inch.

For the most eco-friendly booty-huggers:
Loomstate for Barneys Green "Reflection Jeans" are great selvage denim, non-stretch high-waisted jeans made from 100% organic cotton with a rigid finish. Plus they're made right here in the US of A. ($295.00 from Barneys New York)

For the best high gloss finish:

Superfine's Liberty Jean ($308.00) is a sexy five-pocket skinny jean in a high-shine black gloss that is made in Italy and will raise plenty of eyebrows.
