Crush on You
Amenities like Taco Tuesdays, heinous laundry service, an ice-cold lake (rumored to be leach-filled) and movies on the lawn (a.k.a. mosquito fest ’84) don’t exactly earn places four-star ratings. Then again, upscale living was never summer camp’s intent. The point is ditching the kids so parents can gallivant around Europe, right? Still, for those who reminisce about group field trips and evening activities, Weekend Winemaker Crush Camp offers an adult, more luxurious version. From September 14th through 16th, campers (housed in lovely hotels) will visit five wineries and vintners starting with a Moon Mountain tailgate tasting in the Mayacamas region with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Later attendees will learn insider secrets like how and when to pick, plus blend their own wine and enjoy champagne brunch and Harvest Dinner from celebrity chef Joey Altman. And they can still make out under the stars. This is camp after all. $875, (707) 967-5288
