Win these Kasil jeans!

Win these Kasil jeans!Jeans are not a girl's best friend. They are as mercilessly unforgiving as a scale in a doctor's office. When I slip into a pair — or wrestle my way in, depending on my binge schedule — I can instantly gauge my weight gain or loss. The first evil omen has me jigging back and forth like a coked up River Dancer to eke the resistant denim past my thighs. Has anyone else fallen down during this demoralizing process? In a tiny dressing room at Fred Segal? (All I heard was muffled laughter and the click-clack of Prada pumps, as my salesgirl fled the scene to unleash her size 0 cackles.) Next, there’s that moment when the zipper says, "Better call MacGyver, toots" and refuses to close. But do I turn back and peel them off? Hell, no. Do you have a trick for putting on tight jeans? (A friend fasts the day before she goes to try on denim.) Post your tip on TheStylephile.com and you could win a pair of these chic Kasil jeans ($213: kasiljean.com). The style, Sylvia, features a special secret pocket for your credit card and most importantly, a reverse angled hem. I will pick the best post by noon on Friday and determine a lucky winner. Oh and be sure to also check out the cool Q&A with Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal on the site to learn about her favorite spot in lower Manhattan. - Monica Corcoran

While shopping: Start with a size bigger that what you think it should be. If that is to big, try your correct size. At that point you will feel more relaxed. It's just like trying to get a ring that is too small off of your finger-- take a breath and relax and it slips off with ease. The reverse goes with jeans, relax and slide them on. At home: Do not wash after every wear. After the first wear, they should slip on with no problem. When washing, was in cold, put in the dryer for ten minutes then air dry.

i put mine on when they are still damp from the wash, it helps stretch them out and avoids wrinkles :)

Posted by Taryn Paper | Apr 27 2007 8:58AM

once you get them to the knees put a leather belt through the loops on one side and breathe in and wiggle and haul them up till they move up (a little bit) then do the same with the other side and you may have to repeat the process a couple of times- but its great for us women with false nails - its at this point with false nails you may struggle to fasten the top button my tip is forget it there up!!!!

For the hard-to-zip-up zipper, place your hand on your stomach and push-in; hold your breath for dear life...ease your hand out and zip up and up - until zipped up & all intact in that cute pair... then slowly lean to the left, like a side arm-stretch, then to the right... slowly stretching yourself into the jeans & making them contour to your bod! I definitely think one of those bodyshapers should help as first line of defense here to make this all easier!

Wear a pair of spandex tights. Helps to slide the jeans on and smooths bulges.

Posted by BLONDEE | Apr 26 2007 8:37PM

grab a pair of spanx, some can't believe it's not butter, a shoehorn and lastly a cheeseburger and dvd in case you can't get into them you'll have something to do friday night.

Posted by brooke | Apr 26 2007 8:23PM

put the pants on and hop a little on either foot to get each leg up as far as you can without looking stupid under the dressing room door. sit down, and pull the front of the jeans up by your pockets. each leg at a time. till the jeans are up to your crotch stand up and pull the back up as far as you can so that you're snug in your jeans. suck youre stomach in and ZIP and BUTTON!! :D hopefully you get through all this without tearing the jeans :D if you do, RUNNNN

1) Psyche yourself up - if you believe they will fit, they WILL! 2) Eat light the morning you plan to wear them/go jean-shopping; the last thing you want is too feel over-loaded! 3) Step in slowly and massage your way in

Wear your jeans to the Santa Monica Car Wash, after you pay and get your ticket, go back to the car entrance, smile at the guys hosing your wheels, in excitment, point at the street and loudly shout 'there's Paris Hilton naked, what a goofball! Make sure you say it in Spanish, too. Then throw yourself on top of your car, suds up, rinse off, and enjoy the blowdry. Your jeans will never fit better!

Don't shower for a few days like Jim Morrison! When he wore jeans or leather pants~ he wore the same pair for a week. When I was his Psychic "LA WOMAN" for VH-1 and the News...I did most of what Jim did...and Yes, my jeans of a few days fit!!!!! Then after a week, instead of washing, you might have to 'light them on fire' and buy another pair! www.junedeyoung.tv

Ahhh....this takes me back to the days of roller rinks and Jordache jeans (when high-school girls would dare to buy size 12 or 14 in the little girls department). To avoid frequent dressing room night-mares, find a pair that fits and buy a bunch of the same kind! At home, the standard foot-in, foot-in, hop-hop-hop over the hips... then lie back on the bed, suck it in and zip up using the hook-end of a wire coat hanger ¡V works like a charm! P.S. pick out your shoes ahead of time so you can just step into them instead of having to crawl around in your closet while the jeans cut off your circulation! ƒº

Simple: Love the skin you're in & buy your size!

super seven: 1. Glauber salt (T-1) 2. cold shower 3. K-Y 4. bungee jump into jeans 5. pregnancy breathing and relaxation technique (no, I don't have kids) 6. zip it with Barry White music (vol.10) and Carmen Electra moves 7. my million dollar smile and my fake Gucci heels.

Lay down on your edge of the bed and pull at them and zip them up, works wonders for me. Also lay off the drinking water or soda for 3 to 4 hours so your not bloated. On top of that, go take a healthy number 2 in the toilet to get rid of the junk in your trunk so they won't be so tight!

Posted by MCJunkie | Apr 26 2007 12:50PM

if u shower before putting on our jeans, make sure u're completely dry and don't put any lotion on, especially the skin-toning/cellulite-reducing kind! i've found these lotions become a bit sticky on your skin and plump it up making it harder to pull tight pants on.

1. pull jeans up as far as they willingly will go (which is to say, not far) 2. jumpjumpjumpjumpjump while pulling further 3. pray that nobody walking by your dressing room just saw that 5. while bending back in an attempt to "flatten" your stomach, cram the zipper up and button up 4. collapse into a tired heap onto the dressing room bench 5. catch your breath 6. stand and admire just how awesome you look and assure yourself that yes, with all weight you will lose with that diet you will "start tomorrow", this will only get easier.

Posted by fuzzybunnie | Apr 26 2007 11:21AM

1. Pull on jeans as far as they will go. 2. Look down at the zipper. 3. Question whether zipper length is defectively short. Curse it. Accept it. 4. Exhale deeply. I mean DEEPLY. Make yogis jealous. 5. Clench butt cheeks. 6. Pull up pants and zipper, fast. 7. Breathe normally. 8. Don long top. 9. Surreptitiously leave top button undone.

Posted by Jamie | Apr 26 2007 11:19AM

When donning really tight jeans I find it helpful to steam the jeans or hang them in the bathroom while I shower. While still warm lay them on a bed or the floor and scoot in to them horizontally. If the zipper is tough to bring up put the hook of a metal clothes hanger into the eye of the zipper pull to use as a handle with better leverage.

I take a very, very cold, almost ice cool shower before I put on my very tight skinny jeans. Just like putting cold cotton puffs on the eyes to decrease swelling, I feel this works for the body too. I really feel like I am calming and decreasing the swelling in my body and everything seems to go on better and easier...and the best part is that it is healthy. No dieting or pain involved! It makes you feel refreshed and ready to go out and have a good time, too!

Posted by A. Marsh | Apr 26 2007 10:57AM

If I'm feeling puffy, I eat nothing for two days straight and drink only water and juice. Then when I go "jeans" shopping -- no problem! This has always worked for me -- a two-day fast is good for everyone! If you can't fast -- do deep, and I do mean deep knee bends several times and the jeans will stretch just enough to zip up!

I LOVE JEANS! I especially LOVE the low cut jeans! Whew, before they started them I used to have to wear boy jeans because those jeans they made for us went up to our boobs!! LOL, it cracks me up when I still see women wear those. My best jean trick is to shake yo money maker!! ya ya ya! Then top it off with a nice belt.

Posted by dblock | Apr 26 2007 10:48AM

Pull those jeans on right after they come out of the dryer still a little damp and warm... they're more likely to stretch before they're completely dry. So you'll be a little chilly until they air dry, but it's a small sacrifice. And then the real secret... never wash them again! Decent jeans always shrink a little in the wash, especially if they're vintage, so be stealthly dirty and wash only when absolutely necessary!

The bodyshaper is a great idea, but control-top pantyhose, pulled up to just below your bra are cheaper and easier to get in and out of. They have the added bonus of smoothing out any muffin-tops which might appear. For low-rise jeans, the key is to stretch out the waist (to avoid unsightly lumps). The fastest way is to rescue the jeans from the drier about 10 minutes before they finish and stand on the buttoned waistband while pulling up with your hands. Even if the jeans are snug on the thighs and hips, they will look more flattering if they don't pinch at the waist. For all-around tight jeans or cigarette jeans, pull them on like stockings: bunch then up on your hands and pull them up from the ankles, little by little, in the classic: tug-squirm-scream cycle until you make it. The next to last ditch effort is a bodywrap. Barring that, ebaying the old ones and whipping out your credit card for jeans that fit is the best advice that I can give.

Posted by lexlawgirl | Apr 26 2007 10:42AM

My foolproof method for fitting into size 28 jeans (no matter what you weigh). 1. Buy jeans in size 28, and your normal size (let's say...30). 2. Hand a trusted friend both pairs of jeans, a pair of scissors and a needle and thread. 3. Tell your friend that you know she would NEVER EVER switch the tags on you, even if your dying wish was to fit into size 28. NEVER EVER. You are only handing her the scissors and thread as an act of faith that she would NEVER EVER do that to you, despite how happy the illusion would make you. 4. Return 20-60 mintues later (depending on the sewing and/or lying aptitude of your friend). 5. Slide effortlessly into Size 28 jeans. 6. Donate the size 30's to your poor, sweet HONEST friend (who MUST not be as skinny as she looks, poor thing). 7. Be fabulous.

This is a little unconventional, but who cares. I just want to look like a hot mama in my jeans. I've been known to put my purse (and a sweater, or whatever or have to stuffit with)inside the butt area of the jeans. Stuff as much junk back there as you can before zipping. Sit down. stand up. sit down. stand up. sit down. stand up. insert more padding. your butt may look j-lo-esque with all that padding. now take all the junk out, and pull that zipper up, and voila! your junk in the trunk has disappeared and you can use your purse again.

I put them on as far as I can and spray them with water where I need them to stretch out a little bit. Works like a charm!

i used to watch my girlfriend ease into jeans that i was so wide eyed she could get in to!! she would stand up, pull them up as far as they would go; it is usually our lovely tummy area that causes us gals the most grief; she would then lay on the bed, grab a wire coat hanger and with the hook end, insert it into the hole in the zipper & seriously, without effort zip up her jeans with ease!! was so amazing to watch & worked every time, even jeans right out of the dryer which are known to be smaller than usual!! some great tips!!! thanks! /lynn

Pull on a body-shaper that either stops at the ankles or knees for a smooth, glide-on surface and you have great leverage to fit in any old pair!

Posted by em | Apr 26 2007 10:22AM

When getting out of shower your skin is still damp, making it more difficult to get jeans on, so I apply baby powder or some nice body powder with a powder puff on my body, especially the midsection and whoala, the jeans slide on without a hitch!

Posted by jencnal | Apr 26 2007 10:22AM

Do 15 lunges with them on (without the zipper up), see if the zipper goes up...if it doesn't, then do 15 squats, by then they should be able to zip them up....and feel good about your mini workout!

Posted by jeansqueen | Apr 26 2007 10:21AM

The best way to get tight jeans on? I learned this from an Italian friend of mine, believe it or not a guy! (seriously I didn't understand how they get THEIR jeans on, some of them look like they are painted on). Put your feet in and pull them up as far as you can, then grab the closest belt loop on each side, by your hips, and jump up and down. As you jump, tug on the belt loops upwards. Looks silly, but it works, AND you must burn a couple of calories while you are doing it right?

Posted by JJ | Apr 26 2007 10:19AM

The best thing to learn is 'the shimmy'. Scoot one side of the jeans up while pushing your hips to one side. Then scoot the jeans up the other side while pushing your hips to the other side. Do this over and over again until they are all the way up. Once up, suck it in and hunch forward to close the zipper.

Posted by Lialia | Apr 26 2007 10:16AM

hang them in the bathroom while showering to make them warm and stretchy, then lay down on the floor to pull them on!
