Meet the Style Sheriffs

The Stylephile has long been disgusted by fashion and beauty injustices--not to mention cheaply made items with inflated price tags. Do the following culprits sound familiar? Sunglasses that cost $320 and break after just three wearings? A pair of $750 heels that endure just four outings before the leather peels off the toe? How about a $42 lipstick that breaks in half after a week of pouts?

Readers, you need not suffer anymore. The Style Sheriffs are here to right the wrongs and replace those broken dreams. From now on, email Monica.Corcoran@Variety.com if you have a faulty item and have had no luck in getting the attention of the store, designer or manufacturer. Please don't send items that cost less than $50 or products that malfunctioned as a result of poor handling. Or addled thinking. For instance, if you wore your suede shoes to the beach and they got wet and ruined, do not appeal to the Style Sheriffs.

Our first case has already been cracked. Jennifer P.--an exec at Disney -- sent us her Tom Ford Whitney sunglasses, which featured a broken arm. When we contacted an executive at Tom Ford, she quickly agreed to replace or fix the item expeditiously. We expect to deliver the fully functioning pair of sunglasses to Jen P. soon.
Remember, there's a couple of new sheriffs in town. And like our heroes, Cagney & Lacey, we won't quit until every perp goes doooown.

Dear Style Sheriffs, It was Spring 2006 when I first spotted Tom Ford''s "Whitney" sunglasses driving home on Sunset. I remember it like it was yesterday--the billboard image was captivating, fresh and raw. Simply, it was love at first sight. Shortly there after I purchased my perfect dark green shades at Saks and never looked back. Me and my TF''s were inseparable. I wore them to premieres (rain or shine), I brought them on vacation, they meet my parents and all my friends (even complete strangers) said we were the perfect match. It was bliss. Unfortunately the love affair ended one month shy of our 1 year anniversary. The shock & awe was numbing. Honestly I don''t know what happened!? I never beat up my TF''s, I never wore them as a headband, I never threw them carelessly into my purse, I never dropped or sat on them accidentally...yet there I was holding TF''s broken arm. Non-repairable. My bliss quickly turned to horror. My TF''s had broken my heart. I found myself wandering aimlessly around Saks hoping to catch a glance or looking them up online to see how they were doing. I even cried once after seeing the newest "it" girl wearing them in Vogue and looking happy. How dare she...that was suppose to be me. I wanted my TF''s back and I knew they wanted me too. Thankfully we were reunited less than a week ago. The way they fit, the way they look, the way they make me feel is indescribable. Thanks Style Sheriffs (bang bang)...or should I call you Style Cupids!? Sincerely, Jennifer P.

Luv this idea. Someone has to stand up for the little consumer. Go all out with the big guns!
