Wednesday win--magic crystal ring

Just the other week a San Francisco feminist described me as "a little witchy", which I of course took as a compliment. The cosmos must have been listening, because just a few days later I received an email from Space Mermaid jewelry designer Stephanie, offering to gift a Stylephile reader one of her enchanted hand-crafted rings. Since I am a hardcore sorceress, not a cheesy fairy or dullard gnome, I checked out the line to make sure it was magickal enough, and happily it was. She has some beautiful wares, whether or not you're a crystal-healing type.
Here's the ring she wants to give us, a quartz crystal and fluorite piece, handcrafted with freshwater pearls and sterling silver. Quartz is associated with protection, and fluorite strengthens mental powers and absorbs negative energy. It is worth $160, and is part of the Space Mermaid new limited edition collection. Whoever wins will have to tell the designer what her finger size is, and she'll make it specially!
To win, visit the Space Mermaid website's animal section, and leave a comment telling us which one you think is the Stylephile's favorite piece, and why. Deadline is next Wednesday December 26 at 5p.m. and don't forget to leave your email address in the comment!

Hi! Very good sait!

Gee: the SEAHORSE STARFISH NECKLACE beats the competition by a quartz! Can THE STYLEPHILE buck this trend!? I tried so many times pre-Deadline to submit. No go. Solly. [feslaw@aol.com]

While I love the Octopus and it's Kraken-like sway over the chains it's tangled in, I think the favorite of a scorceress who likes magick (with a k) must be the unicorn. That is the most magickal beast of all. alikitty@aol.com

I believe the gold or silver Octopus necklace is going to be Stylephile''s favorite piece. It stands out the most on the page just like Stylephile does in the world of chic! kaylabrough@hotmail.com

the carved wood owl, because the intricate detail is stunning & the necklace is definitely one of the cutest ones in the collectioN!

...has to be the gold octopus! she's got her tentacles into everything that's worth touching. she can navigate the sea like a champ. and she's ALL about INK, whether she's using it to write or basking in the great press coverage that the Stylephile enwsletter gets. emily.barsh@gmail.com

I think it's the Black Cat Earrings or Bracelet because every good witch has her bff kitty beside her. I could use some protection, stronger mental powers, and absorbing negative energy--it's been a tough month. I hope I'm right! Keep up the awesome work Space Mermaid, I'm a huge fan of your pieces and your latest ones are more beautiful than the last time I shopped there. You rock, Dee

I believe the beautiful seahorse earrings are the choice! They embody the delicacy of the earth and the sea and the fragile nature of both! lindaluise@bellsouth.net

Everyone seems to be naming her own favorite piece. I myself love the octopus that I got but I think that Stephanie seems more gentle than that. I sense that she does love the ocean though so I am going to guess that her favorite is the seahorse with shell necklace. mposter@sc.rr.com

Posted by mposter@sc.rr.com | Dec 22 2007 2:47PM

The Seahorse Starfish is my guess for Stephanie's favorite. It is certainly mine.

I'm thrilled with anything that has cats or rabbits. My husband's nickname for me is "little rabbit" I love very unusual jewelry!

Posted by Gerri C. | Dec 22 2007 8:31AM

I think it's the seahorse necklace because the Seahorse is a gentle yet fierce creature- only a fierce creature could truly live in the ocean. The ocean has such tremendous power, to destroy, to create, to nurture, and yet this gentle and beautiful creature thrives in such an environment. I think it is amazing. I absolutely adore seahorses. glamorbomb@gmail.com

I would say the Rabbit and Heart necklace. Why? Because it reminds me of Tori Amos and Cornflake Girl: "Rabbit, where'd you put the keys girl?" It's so simple and yet it seems to evoke some kind of memory, feeling, or other sentiment. In my opinion, memory/emotions are very powerful. What kind of protection could you possibly need other than memories to keep you safe and warm? :) christina.e.legg@gmail.com

Stepanie's faves must be the black cat earrings! They're mystical & magical! Hang those babies on your ears, and no evil will dare cross your path! How CATastrophic! suelucia@dslextreme.com MEOW!

I would say that Sylephile's favorite piece is the Blue Starfish Earrings. These earrings are simply gorgeous! The color combination between the big blue star and the delicate amber drop bead is unexpected but oh so wonderful! Definitely eye-catching. email: redots@msn.com

I'm going to go with the rabbit and heart necklace... it's absolutely beautiful in a simple and elegant way. silenscarmina@gmail.com

Posted by Britas | Dec 21 2007 1:55PM

I think she would pick the Octopus Necklace. In either the silver or the gold. The black eyes makes it look very witchy. I would love to have one. deichmann@cox.net

the octo-necklace!who can deny its menacing beauty, its draping asymmetrical goodness? vulgarproduct@gmail.com

Posted by jeb | Dec 21 2007 1:13PM

I think the rabbit, heart and key charm necklace is the one I have to choose. Why, you may ask. I think it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

Posted by paulette | Dec 21 2007 12:25PM

My vote also goes for the bat necklace. It''s a little dark, but the delicate chain and the surrounding pearls/stones balance it out nicely. The toggle clasp in the shape of a heart is also a nice little surprise. emailcandice@gmail.com

Posted by canxdice | Dec 20 2007 4:03PM

The Octopus Necklace by far is the most original piece. Trending towards the dark and bizarre. I love it too!!!!! XOV sweetideas@shaw.ca

Eight legs are better than two!

Posted by Kelsey | Dec 20 2007 2:13PM

I think Stylephile''s favorite is the Bat Necklace because his penetrating little eyes perr into your soul and know your shopping desires. dgrilikhes@aol.com

Posted by DGrilikhes | Dec 20 2007 1:12PM

I think with her...darker magical tendencies, the Stylephile might be enchanted with the look of the black ghost/octopus bracelet. Both sweet and evil at the same time.

Posted by FB | Dec 20 2007 12:28PM

Octopus necklace. Capricious, arresting, strongest presence in that selection.

Posted by Ann | Dec 20 2007 10:52AM

I'm going with the seahorse necklace - the bright but not garish green caught my eye immediately - its a very appealing color; and I thought the gentle curves were appealing. stephanie (yelphets@yahoo.com)

Posted by stephley | Dec 20 2007 10:40AM

The bird cluster necklace, because of the pretty color combination of the grape-like balls, and the discreet placement of the little birdie perched on top!

Posted by Hooligan | Dec 20 2007 10:31AM

I think it's the Rabbit, Heart Locket and Key Necklace. Why? Because it's the cutest one up there! lauren.cecil@gmail.com
