Bikes. Owls. Visors.

Bikes, owls, visors—three worlds collide in the hands of Portland designer Paula Deer, whose adorable headwear looks equally good in or out of the bike lane. I love the "Palm-Springs-Meets-The Pacific-North-West" aesthetic of her purple owl visor, perfect for warmer climes, and useful for avoiding the unfortunate "helmet hair" suffered by bikers. For cool night-riding, try one of her traditional, heavier biking hats, which can comfortably be worn beneath a helmet. All her hats are reversible, and handmade with recycled fabrics (some of which come from Paula's mother's fabric stash in North Dakota.)
