Back in Black

Little Black Dress event this Saturday night The world’s most fundamental inventions are constantly being perfected, reinvented and perfected again. Just look at the wheel, sliced bread or Velcro sneakers—great minds (and bakers) won’t rest until they’ve created the ideal version. In the fashion world that all important basic is the black cocktail frock, which is repeatedly celebrated, not only in boutiques across the country, but also at traveling charity event Little Black Dress. This year on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. the special gala commemorating the 80th anniversary of Coco Chanel’s little black dress will benefit the Pediatric Epilepsy Project, highlighting creations by L.A.’s top designers like Puella, Jennifer Nicholson and Louis Verdad and displaying Audrey Hepburn’s Givenchy black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s to be auctioned off in London next month. Guests from Paris Hilton to Balthazar Getty can bid on dresses, while sampling delectable treats from the team behind BOA Steakhouse, Koi and Sushi Roku. $200, Location revealed upon RSVP: lbdevents.com
